Shri Digambar Jain Atishay Kshetra Banediya Ji, located in Banediya village of Depalpur tehsil of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh, is included in the main pilgrimage center of Jains. The ancient story associated with this temple makes it very miraculous. It is said that this temple has appeared here but it was not built. When the temple was excavated to find out the truth, people were shocked. No solid foundation was found anywhere during the excavation. This octagonal grand temple established here without any solid foundation does not have a single pillar and the walls of the temple are 6 to 8 feet wide.
Ancient stone statues of the fourth period
Sanjay Jain, who lives near the temple, said that we have been serving this temple for six generations. It has been heard from the ancestors that an ascetic Muniraj was going somewhere with this temple, for some reason he kept the temple here and started doing penance, when evening came, the temple was established here. Since then this temple is here. The statue of Lord Ajitnath ji is installed in the temple. Apart from this, Manibhadra Baba's Kshetrakal is also here. There are also many ancient sculptures of white stone on which the time of 1248 Samvat Vikram is written. These sculptures are said to be from the fourth period.
Importance of full moon worship
Anil Gangwal of the Gangwal family, who is managing the temple, said that this is the only remote area in India which does not have a foundation. The priest told that on every full moon day a special puja is performed and a fair is organized in which devotees from every corner of the country participate. It is believed that by attending the puja here on Purnima, every wish is fulfilled. Due to this belief, many devotees come here continuously for 7, 8 or 15 full moon days.
