Madhiya of Pisanhari is a well-known pilgrimage site of Digambar Jain sect.
This Jain temple is situated near Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College.
Known for its architecture and architecture, this 500 year old tourist destination is one of the most visited places. According to a legend, this temple was built by a poor woman on the advice of a holy Jain saint. The woman was inspired by the words of that saint to build a huge temple.
There are many stones in this temple, which were placed by a single woman. Those stones are still kept at the same place to commemorate that woman and depict her determination. To pay tribute to that woman, this temple was named Pisanhari Ki Madhiya. It means a woman who grinds flour with her hands.
The Moolnayak statue on the area is of Lord Parshvanath.
Later 13 temples were constructed and at present a total of 14 temples have been constructed. A grand Nandishwar Dheep was also constructed in the area. Along with hill-electricity, there are also captivating fountains and gardens.
There is provision for accommodation and restaurant in the area.
